SteelMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index, PELLEX, stood at INR 8,000/tonne (t) down by INR 150/t on 18 October compared to the last assessment on 14 October, 2022. The index fell to over three-month low as per data maintained with SteelMint.
SteelMint’s daily sponge iron, CDRI index, was assessed at INR 33,400/tonne (t) (- INR 50) exw-Rourkela on 18 October, 2022. The index dropped due to lower bids in the market. However, trade volumes increased marginally but were still lower than average. About 3,110 t of transactions were recorded on 18 October as against 1,620 t on 17 October.
SteelMint’s India HRC (SAE1006, boron-added) export index dropped marginally this week by $7/t to $573/t FOB east coast India.
