SteelMint’s weekly Odisha iron ore fines (Fe 62%) index remained largely stable at INR 3,500/t ex-mines on 15 October, 2022. Market participants are waiting for the OMC auction outcome which is scheduled to take place this week.
SteelMint’s daily steel billet index was assessed at INR 47,250/tonne (t) (- INR 450/t) exw-Raipur on 15 October, 2022. The index fell further following weak finished steel sales, which ultimately lowered bids for procuring billets. Spot billets trades fell to around 1,500 t on 15 October in Raipur as against 2,000 t on 14 October.
