USA’s coking coal exports to the major consumer China fell by 52% m-o-m to 0.14 mnt in Aug’22.
Buying from China decreased as the country shifted to procuring cheaper Russian coal. Also, tepid steel demand there weighed on imports.
In Jan-Aug’22, USA’s total coking coal exports rose by 4% y-o-y to 28.01 mnt.
