ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine’s largest steel company, is shutting down its coke batteries No. 1 and 2 from 10 Oct’22. The decision has been taken in order to protect the environment from harmful emissions as the batteries have crossed a certain age beyond which they can no longer operate. Coke production at the plant will now take place at batteries 5 and 6 that comply with environmental standards.
