Outokumpu to postpone furnace restart for ferro chrome production

Outokumpu has planned to postpone the restart of its furnace for ferro chrome production until the end of Q1CY’23 as high electricity prices continue to have a negative impact on the company’s cost competitiveness compared to competitors, primarily those based outside Europe, company sources said. The capacity of the furnace under shutdown is approximately 30% of the company’s total ferro chrome capacity.
