Ship-breaking melting scrap prices declined further by INR 200/t d-o-d in Gujarat’s Alang market, SteelMint’s assessment showed. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 42,100/t exy. Semi-finished steel prices also dropped in the western region and the spot market is witnessing low volume transactions, forcing scrap suppliers to reduce their offers.
