Japan: Silico manganese imports increase by over 10% m-o-m in Aug’22

Japan’s silico manganese imports increased by 13% m-o-m to 23,095 t in Aug’22 against 20,518 t in July, as per customs data.
The uptick in imports was because of active buying amid improved crude steel production.
India was the largest exporter at 11,118 t followed by Vietnam and Malaysia.
Japan’s cumulative imports inched up by 8% y-o-y to 182,535 t in Jan-Aug’22.
