Japan: Ferrous scrap exports rise over 15% m-o-m in August

Japan’s scrap exports increased by 16% to 477,186 t in Aug’22 compared to 411,651 t in Jul, as per SteelMint data.
South Korea continued to be the largest importer at 189,841 t followed by Vietnam and Taiwan at 114,102 t and 60,020 t, respectively.
Notably, a total volume of 3.92 mnt has been exported by Japan from Jan-Aug’22, a 24% fall on CPLY.
