Japan: Iron ore imports increase 11%, m-o-m, in Aug’22

Japan’s iron ore imports increased by 11% m-o-m to 9.32 mnt in Aug’22 from 8.42 mnt in July, as per customs data.
Australia was the top exporter at 4.75 mnt, followed by Brazil at 3.05 mnt and Canada at 786,868 t.
Cumulative import volumes fell marginally by 4% to 72.17 mnt in Jan-Aug’22, against 75.32 mnt in the year-ago period.
