Japan: Steel billet exports remain largely stable, m-o-m, in Aug’22

Japan’s steel billet exports remained largely stable m-o-m to 220,288 t in Aug’22 from 223,426 t in Jul’22, as per customs data.
South Korea was the largest importer at 87,725 t followed by Taiwan and Thailand at 70,539 t and 55,098 t, respectively.
Export volumes fell by 13% y-o-y to 1.95 mnt in Jan-Aug’22 as against 2.24 mnt in the year-ago period.
