Amid the ongoing energy crisis in Europe, Germany’s energy giant Uniper is set to open its Ratcliffe coal power station till March 2023 as a contingency plan to cope with the disruption of Russian gas supplies. The time limit may get extended till September 2024 as Britain also plans to close all coal-fired plants. Russia satiates about 40% of Europe’s natural gas demand.
