Mongolia’s coal production rises 20% m-o-m in August

Mongolia’s coal production rose by 20% m-o-m to 3 mnt in August. The volumes registered a y-o-y jump of 143%. This rise in production was because of surging coal demand in China. Meanwhile, Mongolia’s total output in Jan-Aug’22 fell to 15.85 mnt, a drop of 24% y-o-y amid Covid-19 induced customs clearance restrictions during initial months.
