In the Chhattisgarh Budget 2013, entry tax on purchase of Pig iron from other states has been lowered to 0.5%, which was at 1% earlier.
According to a Pig iron maker in Chhattisgarh, “Buyers of Pig iron in the state will have to pay Rs 100-125 less, previously Rs 250-300, on purchases from other states.
Most of it will also depend on the demand and supply scenario”.
“In the present day, Jayaswal Neco is the only supplier of Pig iron in Chhattisgarh.
Its prices will have to be competitive and look to come down further, after the Union Budget is announced on February 28″, said traders.
