Indonesia struggles to roll out its plan to phase out coal-fired power plants

Indonesia is struggling to roll out its plan to shut coal plants over the next 30 years due to limited potential investors to support its energy transition. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and some European countries have declined the offer as Indonesia needs $600 bn to replace 15 GW of coal-fired power capacity with renewables. The country is a key coal producer and biggest exporter of the fuel worldwide.
