India Iron ore imports hit 9.6 MnT in first 9 months of Financial Year 2015. With this trend imports are expected to cross 12 MnT in FY15.
Iron ore shipments to India recorded highest ever in Dec’14 i.e 2.7 MnT up by 50% M-o-M, Imports are supported by less domestic availability of Iron ore and low international price.
With an imports of 6 MnT JSW remains the largest importer of Iron ore followed by Tata Steel 1.7 MnT.
Krishnapatnam port recorded the highest number of import shipment of 5.7 MnT in this financial year followed by Mumbai 1 MnT, Jaigarh 0.6 MnT, Paradip 0.5 MnT, Kandla0.4 MnT, Haldia 0.4 MnT, Hazira 0.3 MnT.
