OMC booked 33,100 t of chrome ore in the auction on 19 Sep’22 out of 85,100 t put on offer. The entire quantity of higher grade (Cr2O3: 52-54%) ore of South Kaliapani mines was booked at a premium of 6-8% over base price. Following this, ferro chrome smelters anticipate that the market will rebound in the near term. The remainder quantity was booked at close to the base price.
