Indonesia issues new regulations to promote renewable energy usage in energy mix

Indonesia has recently issued new regulations to promote the use of renewable energy, as per latest reports. This includes the plan of decommissioning a large number of coal-fired power plants in the next 30 years. As the world’s largest coal exporter, Indonesia aims to increase the proportion of renewable energy in its energy mix to 23% by 2025 from 12% at present.
