India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed price trends. Offers floated by mills varied in the range of INR 50- 500/tonne d-o-d on 13 Sept , 2022.
Sponge iron prices rose in the range of INR 50-500/t, with the maximum increase of INR 500/t seen in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
Billet prices varied in the range of INR 100-450/t. Prices rose INR 450/t in Raigarh’s billet market. However, a major price decline of INR 300/t was observed in the Chennai market.
Also, rebar (Fe 500) offers fluctuated by INR 100-500/t across regions. Prices witnessed a rise of INR 400/t in Raipur and Muzaffarnagar. However, a major price drop of INR 500/t was seen in Hyderabad.
The overall market was upbeat throughout the day in terms of prices. Also, active trading was witnessed in major locations.
The market saw a hike in prices, especially in the central, east & northern regions. Semi-finished and finished long steel prices remained positive on account of active demand.
