Indonesian thermal coal prices rise for third straight week

Indonesian coal prices continued to rise for the third straight week amid rising enquiries from China. A heatwave earlier this month, followed by drought in the Yangtze River Basin has affected the hydropower generation in China, resulting in a rise in imported coal demand. Enquiries from other major Asian buyers also resurfaced amid winter restocking demand following LNG supply constraints from Russia.
