In a confirmed deal, a panamax cargo carrying Russian 6000 NAR grade coal (58% FC) was booked at $187/t CFR India for Oct’22 delivery. Russian coal demand continues to strengthen in India with its increasing usage in the sponge iron and cement industry. India’s coal imports from Russia shot up to a record high of 2.3 mnt in Aug’22, as per Coalmint vessel data.
