India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed price trends today. Offers floated by the mills varied in the range of INR 100-600/tonne (t), d-o-d, on 2 September, 2022
Sponge iron prices dropped by INR 100-500/t and a major fall of INR 500/t was seen in the Jharsuguda market.
However, billet prices increased in the range of INR 100-600/t. Prices rose by INR 600/t in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab.
Also, rebar (Fe 500) offers varied in the range of INR 100-300/t across regions. The highest price decline of INR 200/t was seen in the Mandi market.
Billet prices in most regions rose, while finished long steel prices fluctuated today. Although offers rose, demand continued to remain moderate, especially in the central region, sources informed SteelMint.
