Japan: Iron ore imports rise 7%, m-o-m, in July

Japan’s iron ore imports increased by 7% m-o-m to 8.42 mnt in Jul’22 from 7.88 mnt in Jun, as per customs data.
With 5.8 mnt, Australia was the top exporter, followed by Brazil and South Africa at 2.1 mnt and 0.24 mnt, respectively.
Import volumes decreased marginally by 3% to 62.85 mnt in Jan-July’22 as against 65.26 mnt in the year-ago period.
