Primetals Technologies, POSCO sign MoU to set up green steel demonstration plant

Primetals Technologies has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with POSCO to jointly set up a green steel demonstration plant using hydrogen reduction ironmaking “HyREX”, a technology used to produce DRI. The plant will be operational by early 2027. HyREX was developed based on FINEX, which uses reducing gas (contains 25% hydrogen). FINEX was jointly developed by Primetals Technologies and POSCO.
