Thailand: Steel billet imports fall over 30%, m-o-m, in Jul’22

Thailand’s steel billet imports fell by 33% m-o-m to 0.25 mnt in Jul’22 compared to 0.37 mnt in Jun’22, as per data recently released by customs.
Oman was the largest exporter with 0.12 mnt followed by Japan with 0.10 mnt.
Import volumes fell by 12% y-o-y to 1.84 mnt in Jan-Jul’22 as against 2.10 mnt in the year-ago period.
