Japan: Tokyo Steel increases scrap buy prices by $22/t for Tahara works

  • Japan’s major EAF steelmaker Tokyo Steel has increased scrap procurement prices for Tahara works after a gap of almost a month.
  • The company increased bids for H2 scrap by JPY 3,000/t ($22/t) for the Tahara factory, effective 27 Aug.
  • After adjustment, bid prices for H2 scrap are at JPY 45,000/t ($328/t) delivered to the Tahara plant while prices for other plants remain unchanged.
