Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market increased by INR 300/t, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 45,500/t exy. Despite limited trades in semis and finished steel in the western region, scrap suppliers witnessed moderate buying enquiries due to shortage of scrap, which prompted them to raise offers today.
