India's largest steel producer SAIL might keep
its March-13 prices unchanged as demand expected to remain stagnant. SAIL official, on conditions of anonymity said, 'prices will remain same as we want smoother
sales, we expect domestic demand to rise due to lesser import from Japan and
Korea.' He also said, due to summer season we expect demand to rise.
Well known trader based in Delhi said, 'Prices
were increased for Feb-13 but due to low demand it got roll over, similarly
this month we don't see major demand and prices will remain same.' HR Coil of
2MM is trading at Rs 39,300+VAT Ex-Delhi and Rs 40,300+VAT Ex-Ludhiana.
Other major manufacturers like Jindal, Essar, JSW, Lloyd, Bhushan will open prices post SAIL declaration. Experts believe
prices to remain range bound where as discount of Rs 1000-1500 per ton will
fluctuate.
Imported offers from Japan FOB stands at $640
and China at $610-620 FOB.
