China: Chrome ore imports fall 5% m-o-m in July

China’s chrome ore imports were recorded at 1.199 mnt in Jul’22, down 5.39% m-o-m as against 1.27 mnt in Jun. Imports fell because of ferro chrome production cuts in China. The top three exporters were South Africa at 931,800 t, Turkey at 91,900 t and Zimbabwe at 31,200 t. However, imports were up marginally by 1.57% y-o-y in Jan-Jul’22.
