South Korea: Steel billet imports drop 15%, m-o-m, in July

South Korea’s steel billet imports fell by 15.24% m-o-m in Jul’22 to 114,190 t from 134,715 t in Jun, as per customs data.
Japan was the largest exporter at 79,819 t, followed by China at 13,257 t.
However, import volumes rose by 29% to 1.06 mnt on the year in Jan-Jul’22 as against 819,101 t in the year-ago period.
