India: Ferrous scrap imports jump 16%, m-o-m, in July

India’s ferrous scrap imports rose by 16% in July to 0.44 mnt as compared to 0.38 mnt in June, as per customs data.
The UAE continued to be the major exporter at 0.07 mnt, followed by the USA and the UK at 0.05 mnt and 0.03 mnt, respectively.
Scrap imports witnessed a significant rise of 42% y-o-y as against 0.31 mnt in Jul’21.
