Vietnam’s steel export volumes dropped by around 23% to 4.85 mnt in Jan-July’22 against 6.29 mnt in the year-ago period, as per SteelMint records. This year demand remained weak in the USA amid inflationary pressure and in the European Union because of high power costs. Also, some Vietnamese steel products were added to the EU country-specific quotas in early CY22.
