Indonesia: Pricing impact of coal export ban on 48 mining cos to be limited

Impact of Indonesia’s ban on its 48 coal mining companies may be limited and have little bearing on prices as these belong to relatively small producers who failed to meet their Domestic Market Obligations. Domestic intake is only 25% of Indonesia’s production, which will exceed 600 mt this year. There is adequate exports supply, as large-scale miners continue to cater to both overseas, domestic requirements.
