Spot electricity price on the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) day-ahead-market extended declines on the monthly basis, dropping by 17% to INR 5.41/unit in Jul’22. The ease in power supply situation coupled with subdued demand during monsoon dragged down prices to a 5-month low. However, the price was still assessed 83% higher on the year against INR 2.95/unit in Jul’21.
