US: Total Coal Production down by 2.3 % on Y-o-Y basis

US, one of the major coal producers of the world, witnessed a  drop  of  5.2% in its coal production from last week and 0.7% than the production estimate in the comparable weeks of 2012.

As reported by the US government agency till the week ended on 21 September, 2013, US had produced 19.3 million short tonnes (mmst) which is lower by 5.2% from previous week production and 0.7% than the production estimate in the comparable weeks of 2012.

East of Mississippi River production during the week totaled at 8.2 mmst and 11.1 mmst coal is produced in West of Mississippi River

US has produced a total 727.7 mmst in 2013, which is 2.3% lower than last year production.
