Chrome ore prices in China continued their declining trajectory amid weak demand since many ferro chrome facilities are closing or reducing production as stainless steel demand thins and ferro chrome prices drop. A deal concluded by POSCO in Jiangsu for HC ferro chrome at RMB 8,300/t ($1,230/t) delivered exacerbated the bearish outlook for the month ahead. As of 19 July’s assessment, UG2-ore prices were at around $295/t CNF China.
