Coal India subsidiary Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) has appointed JMS Mining as the mine-developer-operator (MDO) for its 0.87 mnt/year Piparwar project. The contract involves coal extraction and delivery for 14 years, which was finalised at a mining charge of INR 1,813/t. With this, the tenders for six out of 15 MDO projects of CIL have been concluded, while the remaining nine are under different stages of the tender process.
