China: Coal imports from Russia up 10% in June amid competitive prices

China’s coal imports from Russia stood 2 mnt in Jun’22, up 10% m-o-m, customs data showed. Chinese traders shifted their focus to importing cost-competitive Russian coal over Indonesian or US-origin material. Trade, taking place in Chinese Yuan, have further contributed to the rise in procurement. In Jan-Jun’22, total imports from Russia were recorded at 9 mnt.
