China: Top 10 coal miners produce 52% of country’s output in H1CY22

The top 10 Chinese coal miners produced 1.13 bnt in the first half of CY22, up by 90 mnt from H1CY21. These companies accounted for 52% of the country’s total coal output in this period. The country’s total production stood at 2.19 bnt in H1’22, up 11% y-o-y. China concentrated on raising production to avoid the supply shortage. The country’s imports went down by 18% y-o-y to 115 mnt in H1’22.
