Whitehaven Coal Ltd, the largest independent coal miner in Australia, saw an increase of 17% q-o-q and 19% y-o-y in coal production to 6.4 mnt in Apr-Jun’22 quarter (Q4FY22). While Covid-19 restrictions and flooding led to reduced production in third quarter, EU’s ban on Russian coal led to increased demand for Australian coal, resulting in rise in Q4 output.
