Germany restarts 16 idle thermal power plants amid concerns over Russian gas supplies

Germany decides to restart 16 idle fossil fuel power plants and extends the operating permits for 11 more due to concerns over reduction in Russia’s natural gas supplies. Germany has decided to stop importing coal from Russia starting August amid the latter’s conflict with Ukraine. In this regards, it has begun looking for alternatives of Russian coal. Indonesian vendors were contacted in order to satisfy the growing demand.
