Jindal Steel Power Ltd (JSPL) is purchasing Russian PCI (pulverised coal) and the payment is being made in Yuan. Since April, JSPL has booked 0.35 mnt of Russian PCI and the latest shipment of 75,000 t is expected to reach India in the next week. A major cement company has also booked Russian thermal coal for which payment is being done in Yuan. The Russian coal is being offered to India at 30-40% discounts against other origins coal.
