China: Strong summer demand lifts raw coal output by 15% in June

China’s thermal coal output rose by 15% y-o-y to 380 mnt in Jun’22, as per data from National Bureau of Statistics. June output rose slightly by 3% m-o-m. State planner NDRC continues to force miners to increase coal output in a bid to ensure sufficient supply at power plants during summer. Coal output over the first six months of 2022 reached 2.19 bnt, up 11% y-o-y.
