Copper prices fall to the lowest since Nov’20

  • Benchmark LME copper prices have fallen to $7,325/t levels yesterday, the lowest since late-Nov’20. While copper prices peaked in March, muted demand from China triggered the beginning of the price downtrend and spike in Covid cases added to its losses.
  • SteelMint’s copper armature scrap prices fell 3% w-o-w INR 285,000/t exw-Delhi, while primary and secondary wire rod prices dropped by 4% to INR 640,000/t and 627,000/t exw-Delhi respectively.
