USA: Pig iron imports fall 20%, y-o-y, in Jan-May’22

The USA’s pig iron imports rose sharply by 217.80% m-o-m in May’22 to 0.30 mnt from 0.09 mnt in Apr, as per customs data.
Brazil and India were the largest exporters at 0.12 mnt each, followed by Russia at 0.05 mnt.
However, import volumes fell by 20% to 1.87 mnt on year in Jan-May’22 as against 2.35 mnt in the year-ago period.
