USA: Steel billet imports fall 7%, m-o-m, in May

The USA’s steel billet imports fell marginally by 7.36% m-o-m in May’22 to 0.25 mnt from 0.27 mnt in Apr, as per data recently released by customs.
Brazil and Mexico were the largest exporters at 0.10 mnt each, followed by Canada at 0.03 mnt.
Import volumes fell by 21% to 1.61 mnt on year in Jan-May’22 as against 2.05 mnt in the year-ago period.
