In Gujarat’s Alang market, shipbreaking melting scrap prices increased by INR 500/t d-o-d. As per SteelMint assessment, HMS (80:20) ex-yard prices stand at INR 43,700/t. Due to the sudden spike in semi-finished steel prices over the last two days most traders held scrap offers, opting to wait and see. However, some improvement in finished steel demand was seen yesterday, mainly in Maharashtra and central India.
