South Asia’s imported ferrous scrap prices remained range-bound today. Major buyers are waiting for price corrections ahead of the Eid holidays. However, limited availability, and shortage of containers at a few regions might lead to further price hikes.
- Around 4,000 t of UK-origin shredded is being traded at $460-470/t, CFR Qasim. SteelMint’s assessment of UK-origin shredded scrap stands at $472/t CFR Pakistan, unchanged d-o-d.
- UK-origin shredded scrap into Bangladesh stands at $495-500/t CFR, unchanged d-o-d.
- Imported shredded scrap prices into India stood at $470/t CFR Nhava Sheva, up by $10/t d-o-d.
