Thailand: Steel billet imports fall over 30%, m-o-m, in May’22

Thailand’s steel billet imports fell significantly by 32.85% m-o-m in May’22 to 0.24 mnt compared to 0.35 mnt in Apr’22, as per data recently released by customs.
Oman was the largest exporter with 0.10 mnt, followed by Japan with 0.05 mnt.
Import volumes fell marginally by 19% to 1.22 mnt y-o-y in Jan-May’22 as against 1.50 mnt in the year-ago period.
