Turkey: Steel billet imports fall over 40%, m-o-m, in May

Turkey’s steel billet imports fell significantly by 43.5% m-o-m in May’22 to 0.27 mnt from 0.48 mnt in Apr’22, as per data recently released by customs.
Russia was the major exporter with 0.21 mnt in the month under review.
Import volumes dropped by 19% to 1.93 mnt y-o-y in Jan-May’22 as against 2.4 mnt in the year-ago period.
