SteelMint’s daily sponge iron, CDRI, index was assessed at INR 33,850/tonne (t) (+INR 100) exw-Rourkela on 4 July 2022.
The index edged higher as manufacturers hiked offers on the back of active demand.
About 2,840 t of transactions were recorded today against 1,300 t on 2 July.
Sources are expecting that sponge iron prices will remain on the higher side on strong buying interest and healthy deals happening in different states along with seasonal low productivity.
